Understanding Years of Service

Years of Service (YOS)

The Years of Service is tracked for each Member in IMSe. It represents the length of a member’s Membership.

Cumulative Years are always shown as the first number in Years of Serice.

Consecutive years are also noted in the Years of Service when a member had a break in service.  This consecutive total is years since the member’s last Initiation Date.

It is calculated by looking at the number of days that a person has been active and divides that number by 365.2425 to get the total years.

Drops, Resigns, Withdraw Cards all count as breaks in service.

Years of Service does not necessarily represent the years a member has worked for an employer.

Understanding Gold Member Status

Gold Members are determined based on the Years of Service (YOS) as an active Member.   The status is applied after a Member has 50+ consecutive years as a Non-Life Member.

Years of Service and Gold Member Status is an option from the Member Search (Select Fields) which you can export to Excel for sorting or filtering further.
